American Solar Energy Society (www.ases.org)
The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is a national organization dedicated to advancing the use of solar energy for the benefit of U.S. citizens and the global environment. ASES promotes the widespread near- and long-term use of solar energy.
Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association (www.oregonseia.org)
The Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association (OSEIA) is a non-profit organization consisting of contractors, architects, engineers, utilities, consultants, students, non-profit organizations, and the Oregon Department of Energy. OSEIA is dedicated to promoting the benefits of renewable energy and to developing a strong local industry able to offer high quality installation and professional services to homeowners and businesses.
Oregon Department of Energy (www.energy.state.or.us)
"Ensure Oregon has an adequate supply of reliable and affordable energy, and is safe from nuclear contamination, by helping Oregonians save energy, develop clean energy resources, promote renewable energy and clean up nuclear waste."
Home Power (www.homepower.com)
"Home Power magazine, the hands-on journal of home-made power, grew out of our passion for renewable energy (RE). We're concerned about a world that is increasingly polluted. We're concerned about the high energy use and waste of 'developed' cultures. And we're concerned that people are dependent and unable to care for themselves when it comes to energy. Renewable energy gives people control over their energy future by using energy that is provided daily by nature."

About Green Tags: Green Tags are created when wind power or other renewable energy is substituted for traditional power. The result is a shift away from our dependence on burning fossil fuel to produce electricity. Using clean renewable energy is friendly to the environment and reduces emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Green Tags represent the real savings in carbon dioxide and other pollutants that occur when green power replaces burning fossil fuel.
Inside the Greenhouse (www.med.harvard.edu/chge/green.pdf - Requires Adobe Reader)
Fossil fuel combustion is partly to blame for increased childhood asthma, according to this report published by Harvard Medical School's Center for Health and the Global Environment. But the resulting air pollution is just part of the problem. Increasing temperatures encourage growth of moulds and fungi, and higher carbon dioxide levels stimulate plants to produce more pollen earlier in the year. The report advocates local initiatives, such as tree-planting and improved public transport, to reduce greenhouse gases.
